three exhibtions
I've got work in three different exhibitions from last week to this week!
First is the Voertman's Annual Juried show in the UNT Art Gallery, in which I have one piece ('creepin.')
Next is my BFA exhibition, which is in a space shared with Johnny Perez who is also having his BFA exhibition. I made the card for the show.

And finally is the end-of-semester Watercolor exhibit 'Degrees of Separation' in the Cora Stafford Gallery. It's my last Watercolor show before I graduate so I got a whole wall to myself.

Voertman's
I just got a painting accepted into the Voertman's annual juried exhibition. a good day
Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child -- Trailer
Saw this trailer the other day. Felt like i was traveling in time and basquiat's demise was so tangible in the room like in a dream where you can predict the future. This is definitely the only movie i'll be thinking about for a while... can't wait to see it.
redesign 2010
over the last two days I opted to redesign my site. I had been using a minimalist approach before and liked it fine for a while but then I guess I got bored of it; it had no personality. Now it's 'artsier.' meanwhile life goes on.

first exhibit of the year
first week back to school had us showing last semester's work in the lightwell of the UNT art building. Work included was done by both watercolor and non-watercolor majors of all levels. Two of my pieces were shown. Lighting there is never that great so sorry for bad pictures.

moving picture frames
this is the first animation i'm making for my 3D-watercolor-art final. he's talking to himself very desperately trying to hold onto some revelation he's just had but its fading rapidly...
The opening reception last night was a success. Many people came and enjoyed the free food, talked some about art.
Another semester drawing closer to its end - sometimes i think it's like the year is dying or it's aging into something more mature, a milestone or a gravestone. Anyway, I have a week left to finish my last 3D project.
drawing at work
i did some drawings of these characters by one of my most favorite artists, sammy harkham

watercolor exhibition at cora stafford
i’ve got work featured in a group exhibition entitled “PIG+MINT ON PAPER,” being shown at the cora stafford gallery in denton, tx. the opening reception is tonight from 6-8 pm. lots of amazing free food and watercolor artworks to enjoy. the exhibition will remain up until may 1st 2009.
in an unrelated note, just this morning I skidded on slick roads while bicycling and busted my chin open and had to get 7 stiches.
